V.Ponnusamy Educational and charitable trust got established by Dr.P.Selvaraj an Ideal Industrialist and Philanthropist in 2000 in the fond memory of his late father V.Ponnusamy to impart quality education, to establish epicentre of excellence in learning and research will blossom into an institution par excellence.
SCT Offers 6 Undergraduate Departments such as Computer Science Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Electrical & Electronics Engineering and Bio-Technology and 7 Post Graduate Courses such as Computer Science and Engineering, Applied Electronics, Power Electronics & Drives, Industrial Safety & Engineering, Engineering Design, Computer Applications and Management Studies.
ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering was started in the year 2006 with the approval of AICTE, it offers undergraduate programme recognized by Anna University of Technology, Coimbatore. The department having 14 qualified faculty members and 5 technical staff. The department has been constantly producing eminent engineers with innovative skills .The Department has modernized equipments in Electrical Machines, Control Systems, Power Electronics, Electric drives, Digital Signal Processing and Power System Simulation labs. Being a core branch, enough care is taken that the Engineers produced by the department are abreast of the emerging technologies, so as to meet the today’s industrial challenge. We have been organizing many symposiums, Workshops and guest lectures to encourage the students hone their personality and extra curricular skills. Our students have brought home several laurels from national level symposiums.

ABOUT THE AMPERE2K15
Ampere 2K15, the annual Technical fest of Selvam college of Technology, invites students from all around the nation to put their ingenuity and aptitude to test at an unparallel level of competition. This Year of Ampere 2K15, to be held on 20-02-2015, is all set to epitomize itself as the ultimate platform for budding engineers of various stream.
